Jemima J

I've just started reading Jemima J: A Novel About Ugly Ducklings and Swans and so far it's really a good book!

Le Divorce

I borrowed Le Divorce from Kymberlie this summer but kept putting off reading it. I finally dove in to it a few weeks ago while temping and having a lot of quiet time on my hands.

This book was just ok. I like most books, but I felt like the characters weren't that well developed, and it was annoying when they would have sentences in French and never translate them for you.

She only paid $1 for the book. I honestly don't think I would pay any more than that.

Kate & Leopold

We watched Kate & Leopold tonight, and while it was cute, it was nowhere near as good as I was expecting. Several people have told me that it was great & that I would really enjoy it, so I have looked forward to watching it for a long time.

49% Rotten at Rotten Tomatoes.

Ocean's 11

I finally watched Kymberlie's copy of Ocean's Eleven (2001): George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Steven Soderbergh and it was great!

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (Extended)

Naomi hadn't seen the extended version of LOTR, so we decided to watch it while she was here to visit. Fabulous as always, can't get enough of this film!

Count of Monte Cristo

Have you ever watched a movie, not expect much of it, and discover it was really good? That was the case with this movie. I bought it for Jason, but in the end I might have enjoyed it more than he did! It had a fantastic story line which I wasn't expecting at all - I thought it would be nothing but sword fights and so forth.

Good for older kids, it does have some graphic violence in it - we are talking sword fights after all! But a classic story line and a history lesson all rolled in to one.

Haiku Tunnel

Mike called from Blockbuster to give me the list of movie options, and one of them was this obscure movie that everyone should see! It's the "Office Space" of the temp and legal secretary world. It is absolutely hysterical - I must get this one on DVD! I had to watch it a second time before we returned it to the store, and I laughed just as hard the second time as I did the first!

Catch Me If You Can

Mike & I went to see Catch Me If You Can with a 96% "Fresh" rating from RottenTomatoes.com. I would have to agree with their rating - it was a good movie!
