Little Big League

Little Big League was a great movie to watch with my son. Nothing like a good reminder that you should enjoy the game...

The Italian Job (Widescreen Edition)

I had my doubts about this movie the first time I saw it - I didn't think I would like it at all. Instead I absolutely LOVE The Italian Job and couldn't wait to own it on DVD so I could watch it again and again!

Seabiscuit: An American Legend

After seeing the movie, I had to get a copy of Seabiscuit: An American Legend right away to read. So far, it is wonderful! Even though it is a biography, it is written like a novel, making it easy and entertaining to read.

Updated: What a fantastic and wonderful book. It is different then the movie, in case you wondered. I loved it from beginning to end, and I will probably reread it again in the future.

Why Girls Are Weird

I love a book that can make me laugh and make me cry. Why Girls Are Weird : A Novel did both. I found so much of myself between the pages of the book, and it was a wonderful read - especially for anyone that has ever had a blog, wanted a blog, or even read a blog.

Showtime

We watched Showtime tonight with Eddie Murphy and Robert DeNiro. Not bad - a few good laughs, things blowing up, a good way to unwind. Sometimes you just need something that doesn't require a lot of thought.

Misery

Good stuff, as always. I can't handle the scene where Kathy Bates hobbles him though. *shiver*

What Women Want

I never wanted to see this movie when it was in the movie theater. I thought the previews looked lame and that it just looked bad overall. So when I ended up really enjoying it, I was pleasantly surprised. Good for some laughs, and it makes you think too.

Shallow Hal

I had heard so many negative things about this movie, I wasn't sure what to expect. In the end, I liked it. I found it quite amusing, and a lesson in how we should try to look at people - seeing their inner beauty.

Le Divorce

I borrowed Le Divorce from Kymberlie this summer but kept putting off reading it. I finally dove in to it a few weeks ago while temping and having a lot of quiet time on my hands.

This book was just ok. I like most books, but I felt like the characters weren't that well developed, and it was annoying when they would have sentences in French and never translate them for you.

She only paid $1 for the book. I honestly don't think I would pay any more than that.

Kate & Leopold

We watched Kate & Leopold tonight, and while it was cute, it was nowhere near as good as I was expecting. Several people have told me that it was great & that I would really enjoy it, so I have looked forward to watching it for a long time.

49% Rotten at Rotten Tomatoes.

I finally watched Kymberlie's copy of Ocean's Eleven (2001): George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Steven Soderbergh and it was great!

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (Extended)

Naomi hadn't seen the extended version of LOTR, so we decided to watch it while she was here to visit. Fabulous as always, can't get enough of this film!

Count of Monte Cristo

Have you ever watched a movie, not expect much of it, and discover it was really good? That was the case with this movie. I bought it for Jason, but in the end I might have enjoyed it more than he did! It had a fantastic story line which I wasn't expecting at all - I thought it would be nothing but sword fights and so forth.

Good for older kids, it does have some graphic violence in it - we are talking sword fights after all! But a classic story line and a history lesson all rolled in to one.
