Frequently Mentioned People (FMPs)

:: Chelsey: My best friend. I have known her since fall, 1994 when we worked together at a law firm in downtown Houston. She is still working in the legal field as a legal secretary. She is annoyingly anal about details, so this is obviously a perfect job for her. I love her dearly - we have been through a lot over the years, and in spite of all of our differences and disagreements, we have stayed the best of friends. She is a true horse snob with Tennessee Walking Horses who has helped me learn Equinese (horse terms). Heck, maybe one day she will actually convince me to come out to the annual Saltgrass Trail Ride with her...

:: Jason: My son, 10 years old. He is a sweet and intelligent child. He is in 4th grade and was in the "Honors" (advanced) program before I moved him to the Catholic school in the area. He is also involved with Cub Scouts. He is very smart, loves to build things, and I am sure will be an engineer someday. He can play with Lego's and K-Nex's for hours on end. He also loves technology, the computer, and his Playstation.

:: Kymberlie - Neurotic Fishbowl: My co-worker again! Thank goodness I have a lunch buddy. We have spent many hours together discussing the highs and lows of life and work. I have been very thankful for the time that we have spent together and her support when I needed someone to listen through the issues in my life. Hairy Hermit Crab!

:: Laura - ilopan: A former co-worker and quite a neat person. Every time I turn around I discover something else about her that reminds me of myself. It's cool in a way, know what I mean? But on the other hand, we are very different. She inspires me at times to remember not to take any crap from men or people in general. It is also thanks to her that I was able to find a new job so fast when I left the former company. She suggested I call them, and they had just decided to add another member to the sales team! I had an offer by June 1 (I left the former company on May 16), and was working by June 11th.

:: Naomi - TremblingVeil: Yet another former co-worker, a graphic designer. I adore her, even when she doesn't like herself that much. She is a fascinating person who has lived a full life, and I admire that. She has listened to me ramble on and on, and she can always make me smile. I think her design work is wonderful too! Hey Naomi, want to go to Bennigans? She inspires me to seek further within myself, reach deeper to learn more. She has been there for me in many times of need and many times of laughter. I am grateful to her for loaning me her camera to try it out, and also for taking the photos which grace this site now.

:: Rick: We were married many years ago, divorced in 1993. I was still friends with him until Wife #3 banned him from speaking to me. He is a great guy who can still drive me crazy at times and I tend to lecture him too much. He is serving in the U.S. Army still (on the 20 year plan) and is currently stationed at Ft. Bragg. (Where we first met in 1989.) He is now married to Wife #3 and they have had a baby together by now - she was due late 2001/early 2002.

:: Super J: John is always sending me the most amusing IMs (Instant Messages) from out of nowhere, and they always crack me up. He keeps me hip by sending me the latest songs so I can groove to the dance music. He is quite wise & insightful when I need someone to listen to me ramble. He is just an all around wonderful guy!

:: The Insignificant Other: Formerly known as Mike. I met him in March, 1993, right before Jason turned 1. We dated until August, 2000 and then again during November & December, 2000. And again (sort of, since he was dating someone else) from March - May, 2001. I don't talk about him very often any more, which is a good thing.

The Rest of the FC (Former Company):
Some of these people are still there, most are gone. I am glad I had a chance to know them all.

:: Austin - Dorkism.net: I still appreciate that he tolerated my many questions about clients with some level of patience. The fact that I appreciate it could have something to do with the fact that he says he hates people. Has landed a job in a much better place, and we all missed him after he was gone.

:: Bill - MyMomSaysIAmCool.com: Poor Bill. I think he got more questions then anyone else - and not just from me. Bill, my computer is acting up. Bill, the lights are out. Bill, the internet is down. Not just in our office, but the whole entire Internet. Fix it! Thanks Bill, I really appreciate all the times you helped me out. Seriously.

:: Jerome - PixelMuncher.com: Jerome headed up the graphics department. Wonder if that is because he is about a head taller then everyone else? ...sorry, couldn't resist. He is quite a cool guy and is trying to help me understand all of the different types of "electronic" music there are out there. I have learned, thanks to him, that what I once innocently thought of as "techno" is really "electronic" and comes in a wide variety of styles. Jerome doesn't listen to "techno" - he listens to "house". Wow. I would have never known that if Jerome hadn't had the courage to confront me with the facts. Someday I may actually be able to identify them all. Someday... He also tolerates me standing at Naomi's desk (which is next to his), talking to her, and only occasionally tells me to shut up. (By the way, Jerome made me revise this several times because he is a bit anal and didn't want you guys thinking he listens to "techno" music.)

:: Ken - PocketLint.net: Someday PocketLint will rule the world. For now, his design work is pretty cool. On the other hand, his picture album of him in a variety of dresses is pretty hysterical.

:: Miles: I truly needed to get this guy a sign for his office door that says "The Therapist is In/Out" with one of those slide-y things so you can pick whether or not he was there. I had learned so much since first started at my job as a consultant (I am a consultant, damn it! Not a sales person!) and I have Miles to thank for most of it. Along with countless hours of listening to me complain about clients, work, men, friends, ex's - oh wait, it was Miles that was complaining about the ex. Ok, so the therapy goes both ways somedays. I am just thankful that he was there to "ground" me all the times I needed him.

:: Steven - Sir Mugz Productions: I can only hope that someday when Steven is rich and famous he will remember us little people that knew him way back when... Really Steven, I wouldn't say I hated you when I first started working here. At least I wouldn't admit to thinking about it like that... But I think you are wonderful now, so that's what really matters.
